Here at The Village we believe that dedicating your child to the Lord is a celebration of a commitment made to raise your child in the ways of the Lord. This dedication is not a statement of salvation for your child, but is rather a statement about the way you are committing to raise your child. While not a command of scripture, dedicating your child can be an outward symbol – similar to the wearing of a wedding band – of your desire to walk in obedience as you raise your child in the knowledge and instruction of the Lord. This is something that should be done with a community of believers that knows you personally and can commit to walking with you in accountability to this commitment. It is for this reason that we do not have church-wide baby dedication services. Instead we provide our covenant members and regular attendees the tools needed to perform the dedication in a more intimate and personal context – with those whom you are engaged in biblical community (family, home group, redemption group, etc.). This is facilitated by our Baby Dedication Gift Bag. This bag contains several items to assist you in performing a baby dedication service in a gathering with your community of believers.
We prepare these gift bags once per month, and they can be picked up at the preschool check-in area on the 3rd weekend of each month. If you would like to receive a Baby Dedication Gift Bag, please fill out the following form and we will contact you.
